Donna Grantis Plays The Dakota

28 March 2019

Canadian guitarist Donna Grantis, former member of Prince's backing band 3RDEYEGIRL and the New Power Generation, is playing two shows at The Dakota in Minneapolis this evening (03/28) to celebrate the release of her new album, "Diamonds & Dynamite". She will be joined by Tabla artist Suphala, bassist Cody McKinney, drummer JT Bates, and keyboardist Bryan Nichols.

Grantis has been named one of 50 sensational female guitarists by Guitar Player Magazine, and in addition to Prince, she has shared the stage with Pearl Jam, Stevie Wonder, Chaka Khan, Janelle Monáe and Kendrick Lamar. We definitely recommend you check her out if you have the chance.

Tickets are available for tonight's shows at the Dakota's website, and if you want to get an idea of what's in store, you can stream her album in full now.

Finally, read what she had to say about the creation of her new collection of songs by checking out her interview with Billboard earlier this year.
